Hello!
My name is Mr Moose. I am the mascot of our school Karonen. In the next pictures I will present our school to you. We have a wonderful new school building and about 200 pupils studying in grades 1-6.
Here I am sitting on one of our book shelves in the school library.
Reading is very important in our school and most of the pupils pass the literature diploma.

We also have a modern computer class but unfortunately there
are not enough computers to every pupil in class. We use computers in many subjects; maths, environmental studies, history, mother tongue, German and English.
After each lesson (45 minutes) we have a break for 15 minutes. Usually we have to go out to get some fresh air but sometimes we can stay and do what we want.
The schools staff consists of 12 class teachers, 1 English/German teacher, 1 special needs teacher, 1 janitor, 3 cooks and 2 cleaning ladies. I'm enjoying my daily coffee on the sofa.
Guess, what I'm learning right now? Maths. Learning can be great fun sometimes!
Music is also important. We have many instruments that pupils can borrow. Many pupils take piano lessons after school but violin, the drums and flute are also very popular instruments.
Most girls enjoy needlework very much. Also the boys have to learn how to knit and sew. Boys and girls can then choose between technical or textile work. Here's what I wanted to tell you. I hope you got an idea of our school. Soon I will pack my suitcase and fly to Barcelona to meet you all personally. Bye, bye!
Your friend Mr Moose

Sport is number one according to most of the pupils. We have two hours a week and do many different activities. We play football, basketball, volleyball and floorball, for instance. In winter we ski and skate.
